Non-Polish Review: Lush Cupcake Face Mask

Aside from being total nail polish addicts, EK and I also obsess over make-up, bath and body products, anything available at MAC and Sephora, etc. While we were in Providence, R.I., we stopped in the Lush store in the Providence mall (great mall by the way, we didn't spend nearly enough time there). I was having a bad skin weekend, so I perused their selection of face masks. By "peruse", I mean I picked them up and smelled them LOL. The smell of face and body products is very important to me. So, anyway, I picked up the Cupcake face mask and it was love at first smell.

Lush Cupcake Face Mask

The Good News
This mask is billed as "chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin". If you have oily skin, you'll know that most products designed for your skin type smell medicinal. Not this one!! Lush Cupcake face mask has the most wonderful chocolate-y smell. I am tempted to start eating it whenever I use it!
Lush face masks are made of all natural ingredients and don't contain preservatives, so they have an expiration date and are supposed to be stored in a refrigerator. I instantly relax when I apply this chilled chocolate concoction to my face.
Cupcake face mask definitely reduces redness and swelling, making blemishes less noticeable. I see a big improvement in the appearance of my skin after using Cupcake. Unlike other acne masks, Cupcake is not drying at all. I think that is thanks to the inclusion of "peppermint, spearmint, and sandalwood oils". Oils might seem like an odd thing to include in a face mask for oily skin, but I have found that they counteract the usual post-mask dryness I often have after using a mask for oily skin.
This was also pretty inexpensive, I think maybe $6 or so for 2.1oz.

Chocolate-y Goodness for your face!

The Bad News
Because they are all-natural and need to be kept chilled, Lush face masks are only sold at their stores. You can not order Cupcake or any other Lush mask online. The closest Lush store to me is over an hour away, so I don't get there very often. I am currently out of Cupcake and would love more, but I can't find the time to go get it!

Overall, I absolutely LOVE this product. It is a must-try if you have oily, acne prone skin, or even combination skin, like I do. The only bad thing about this product is that you can't order it online. If there was a Lush store closer to me, I'd have a constant supply of Lush Cupcake Face Mask!!
