Poolside FAIL

My China Glaze Poolside polishes arrived yesterday and I was SO pumped to try them out today.

I don't think it was meant to be for today. The very first one I tried was a disaster. First of all, after four coats, the polish was so see through, it could be called a sheer. This makes me angry. I was frustrated and no longer excited about trying the rest of them.

Secondly, there were little black specks of something that looked like crushed dead bug all over the inside of the cap of the aforementioned polish. So these crushed dead bug specks ended up on 3 of the 4 nails I did. HOT.

Thirdly, after all this, the weather here is dark and overcast, so the pictures I finally took of this one polish are totally inaccurate color-wise. So, I quit today. The Poolside collection will be reviewed another day.

I did buy two other treats when I bought Poolside, so I might try to post them later after I stop seething with anger.

I got mine on Wednesday - but they are still looking so pretty in their packaging - almost too nice to take from their plastic home.....and after this review, maybe i should just look at them, not try to apply....LOL

You'll get it, I know....try layering over white - when all else fails, this is what I do!

Don't give up on Pool Side! I actually only had trouble with one color and the rest I found easier than I expected. They are jelly so you still get VNL but I think it is pretty with these. What color were you having trouble with?

Well I'm sad to read this as I got the collection in the mail today. :(
I'm hoping it is just you having a bad day. :)

:( I'm so bummed for you! Hopefully the polish wasn't ruined by the crushed bugs, or crushed plastic, or whatever was in it. Maybe the store will replace it for you?

If I remember, maybe I should use an opaque white under. :)

yardsticks 4 lunatics- I'm sure they're fine layered over white, I just hate having to do white first, then the color I actually want. :(

l0verlada- I haven't given up, I just didn't really want to carry on today. I'll definitely give them another go, maybe Monday. They're absolutely gorgeous colors!!!

Rebekah- I'll have the full review hopefully Monday or Tuesday, so stay tuned for my verdict on the whole collection.

susies1955- I really only tried two of the polishes Susie. One was absolutely see through despite 4 coats. The other was only a bit of VNL at 3 coats. I'll give them another try and post pics in a day or so.

Teresa- I think whatever the black stuff was was only just inside the cap. I just didn't notice it, so I wiped the brush off as usual and applied the polish, plus black specks, on my nail. I don't see any in the actual polish. I wiped the cap and rim of the bottle off, so we'll see if that solves the dead bug/plastic speck problem LOL.

Hello
I have tried the Poolside collection. They are really hard to work at first.
I put white nail polish to pop the colour a bit and it worked. Maybe this tip will help you.

Claire's Blog- I will probably use white polish when I wear these personally. But I'm not going to post them like that when I do a review. I want to show people what they're actually getting. My point is that neons don't have to be this see through (Essie neons are not), so it's annoying that these have VNL at 3 and 4 coats.

Jackie S.- LOL yea tell me about it!

goose- Yea these are fab colors... but kind of a PITA.
