OPI Serena Glam Slam with Spark de Triomphe

OPI Spark de Triomphe

Sorry it's taken me such a long time to post the OPI Glam Slam sets! I intended to do this post during a free hour last week, but Blogger was down (boo hiss Blogger!). And that was my only free hour until now, so I do apologize! I'll have the second set up early next week.

OPI Spark de Triomphe

Anyway, I'm sure you've seen OPI Spark de Triomphe, described as "a monumentally marvelous silver glitter", and it's companion White Shatter already, but I have a different twist on the duo today.

OPI Spark de Triomphe

Spark de Triomphe is kind of a warm silver, or maybe a cool gold glitter polish with lots of small glitter pieces and a good smattering of medium-sized glitter pieces. This is three coats of Spark in all pictures, by the way. I have read bloggers comparing it to China Glaze Medallion (a Never Enough Nails favorite!), but it's quite different. For one, Medallion is a very warm-toned yellow gold, so if you have a cool skin tone, you may prefer Spark de Triomphe. Also, Medallion contains medium-sized holographic glitter pieces, which give it a rainbow-y effect that Spark does not have. Both are gorgeous glitters, and I am quite happy to own both, let me know if you'd like comparison pics.

White Shatter is a white creme shatter polish. It shatters very well and is easy to apply, like all of the other OPI shatters I have tried. White Shatter dries to a matte-ish finish, kind of chalk-like. I like it with no top coat actually! It looks great with Spark de Triomphe underneath. This is really a great combo, and I'll definitely wear it as a full mani sometime. Edited to add: This combo seems to work best if you do your two/three coats of Spark, then a clear top coat. Allow to dry completely before applying White Shatter. White Shatter cracks apart better over the top coat than just the glitter.

However, the first full mani I did with Spark de Triomphe was this one:

And I used White Shatter for an accent nail!

I LOVED this mani, although it looked a little Hanukkah-esque. If you're looking for a great holiday mani this coming season, though, here you are! I'm just starting early LOL :). For my full thoughts on Blue Shatter, go here.

Aah! want so bad but I have yet to find these at an etailer and OPI in store in Australia is around $20 per bottle which I find ridiculous!

Cilucia- I'm wearing the duo now and it's mesmerizing!

Lesley- $ 20 a bottle is ridiculous! Does Amazon.com ship to Australia or no?
