OPI Sparrow Me the Drama plus Silver Shatter Awesomeness!

OPI Sparrow Me the Drama with OPI Silver Shatter

Two Words: Silver Shatter.

Right from the start when we first saw the preview pictures for OPI Pirates of the Caribbean, I knew I would be obsessed with Silver Shatter. You know what I think I really love about it? It's kind of like glitter, super sparkly and eye-catching, but easier to remove. It's also a combination of glitter and my other favorite nail trend- crackle! You can put it over any polish and immediately be more excited about your manicure. I'll talk more about Silver Shatter in a minute.

So, a little side note, I intended to post three of the Pirates colors today- Sparrow Me the Drama, Stranger Tides, and Mermaid's Tears. However, when I jumped out of bed this morning, eager to swatch these babies, I was really disappointed to see the cloudy, dark skies. I actually took pictures of Stranger Tides and Mermaid's Tears, but they really don't do the polishes justice, so I'm going to retake them on a nicer day (tomorrow, I hope). But Sparrow Me the Drama came out OK, so here it is!

OPI Sparrow Me the Drama

Sparrow Me the Drama is a pretty mauve-y pink creme. It definitely has a touch of purple somewhere in the mix and a bit of grey as well. It's a lovely dusty pink that is much nicer (to me) than a regular pale pink creme. This is three coats, but you could definitely wear two if you weren't photographing your mani.

I may decide to retake these pictures too, as they came out pretty dark. But I was really too excited to not post anything today! Sparrow Me the Drama applied very smoothly and evenly. The OPI Pro-Wide Brush seemed a little stiffer than usual, but that might be my imagination, and it definitely wasn't a negative thing. I actually liked the way the brush applied this.

So here's where the magic happens. I applied one coat of Silver Shatter over Sparrow Me the Drama and fell in LOVEEEEE. I just love the way this looks!!!! I tried Silver Shatter on Stranger Tides and Mermaid's Tears also and the same thing happened. I liked the base color before applying SS, but LOVVVVEEE it after!!! I can't WAIT to wear one of these with Silver Shatter as a full mani!! As soon as I finish swatching tomorrow, I am SO doing it. I might even wear a couple of the Pirates polishes as a skittles mani, the colors look amazing together.

Silver Shatter shattered very nicely. If you apply a thick coat it will break into large chunks, showing you more of the base color (I like this look, myself). If you apply a thin coat, you get less base color, more silver. I put a glossy top coat over this, but it looks gorgeous with no top coat also. I bet it would look amazing with a matte top coat!! Ahhhhhhh, I have so many looks to try with this collection!!!

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a nice day and I can finish swatching the Pirates collection!!! Fingers crossed.

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean is available at an Ulta store near you.

These polishes were sent to me for review by a PR agent for OPI. For more info, please read my Disclosure Policy.
