OPI Nicki Minaj Collection Part Two!

 OPI Fly

Let's start Part Two of the OPI Nicki Minaj collection off with a bang! OPI Fly is a bright and happy teal creme. Is it similar to other polishes in existence? Probably. Do I still love it? YES! Fly is more green than the picture above shows. The shot below is closer, but still a bit too blue. It is definitely a great mix of both blue and green.

 OPI Fly

Fly applied perfectly. This is two coats and it went on like butter. It's also very shiny all by itself. These shots of Fly are all without top coat. If you don't have a polish like this already, I highly recommend Fly. Lovely formula, lovely color.

Next up in the collection, we have the highly anticipated Save Me. Save Me is a great song, by the way, so check it out if you like Nicki Minaj. Save Me the nail polish is a very unique mix of square silver glitter and holographic bar glitter in a clear base. I am showing it to you with one coat layered over OPI Fly, and also by itself, so you can really appreciate it's beauty.

Holo bar glitter is just like a party on the nail, isn't it??

 OPI Save Me

Here we have Save Me all by itself. This is three coats and it looked more opaque in person actually. The small square silver glitter does a pretty good job of covering the nail. Look at all of the different colors the bar glitter is in this picture! So cool!

 OPI Save Me

Bar glitter is usually kind of hard to control on the nail. It was very easy to get tons of bar glitter onto my nails with Save Me, no special application techniques needed. Sometimes, you have to push a piece of glitter that is hanging over your free edge back onto the nail though, but that is 100% typical with every bar glitter polish ever. It's just the nature of the beast beauty.

That macro shot makes me drool a little, I won't lie to you!

OPI Super Bass Shatter over OPI Save Me

Just for fun, I put Super Bass Shatter over Save Me. It's cute looking! Love how the holo bar glitter peeks through!

 OPI Metallic 4 Life

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! OPI Metallic 4 Life=LOVEEEEEEEE. Metallic 4 Life is SO cool. This is my favorite polish from the Nicki Minaj collection and one of my favorites of 2012 so far! Some people guessed this might resemble China Glaze Tinsel Town, but there are some key differences that make me like this one better. First of all, the base is much darker, more black than gray. So where the silver glitter in Tinsel Town fades into the gray base, the silver glitter in Metallic 4 Life really POPS against the darker base. The second difference is that Metallic 4 Life has three different kinds of glitter, whereas Tinsel Town only has two. DUH, THREE KINDS OF GLITTER= BETTER.

 OPI Metallic 4 Life

Metallic 4 Life has small square silver glitter, medium silver hex glitter, and large silver hex glitter. Very cool.

  OPI Metallic 4 Life

The formula of Metallic 4 Life was very good for the most part. This is three coats, but I would wear just two if I weren't photographing it. You can see a little VNL, especially on the middle nail, but I think that if the base were not jelly-like, the glitter would get lost. I love the way the glitter stands out, so the VNL doesn't bother me.

 OPI Metallic 4 Life

Now yesterday I mentioned that I would tell you what I wore first from this collection. I was torn between Metallic 4 Life and Did It On Em under Super Bass Shatter, so it was going to be a tough choice. So..... I picked Metallic 4 Life, with Did It On Em/Super Bass Shatter on my thumbnails!! It looked great together and I might do it again with the shatter combo on my ring fingers instead.

Overall, I like this collection a lot and I gained a few new favorites in my collection. I think it does Nicki Minaj's crazy and varied style justice! If you can only buy one polish from this collection, I would definitely pick Metallic 4 Life.

The OPI Nicki Minaj collection is available now at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Ulta, Trade Secret and JC Penney. You can visit OPI.com to find out where to buy OPI.
