Wrapping Up OPI Holland for Spring 2012!! (Part 3)

Kicking off the last four polishes of my OPI Holland swatches is an interested color, OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes. Gouda Gouda Two Shoes is a rose color with small delicate shimmer. In some lights it looks more rose, others more brown and others I get a little touch of mauve in there. It looks more like the pictures below, taken in sunlight, than the first picture, which was taken in shade.

See the pretty tiny shimmers? They add a nice bit of dimension to this polish. The formula on this was very nice. This is two coats, and I didn't have any streaking troubles either.  This is not the kind of color I normally gravitate towards, but it looks very pretty on the nails. If you needed a flattering, kind of subdued color and are tired of just plain nudes, I would recommend Gouda Gouda Two Shoes.

Next up is I Have a Herring Problem, a green-blue with large golden shimmer particles. This reminds me of denim. I don't see too much green in this polish, it looks mostly blue on me, until I put it right next to I Don't Give A Rotterdam. I Have a Herring Problem is greener, and I Don't Give A Rotterdam is blue with gray tones. Very important: Both have awesome names.

This was a little sheer on the first coat and took three coats for full opacity, but no complaints about the formula. Very pretty polish! My mom actually said "oooohh" when I showed it to her!

Next up is OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!. OPI described this color as a pink lavender shimmer, but I mostly see pink. The shimmer in this is very cool though, the same kind of shimmer that is in I Have A Herring Problem and I Don't Give a Rotterdam. It looks like silver shimmer here though. Pedal Faster Suzi is a really pretty pink and I don't think I own anything quite like it.

On the down side, I used four coats in these pictures. Three coats still had a touch of VNL and I wanted to see what it looked like without VNL. I love how it looks, but wish it looked like this in just three coats. No streaking problems though, so that's a plus!

Finally, we have OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam!. I Don't Give A Rotterdam! is a steel-blue with a touch of gray. It contains that large shimmer that I am loving so much lately. I really love this color and will be wearing it or I Have A Herring Problem quite frequently. I do kind of wish they had come out in separate collections though. They seem kind of similar for one collection.

I Don't Give A Rotterdam also needed three coats for full opacity. The formula was good otherwise and it looked lovely with three coats.

Overall, I really enjoyed swatching the OPI Holland collection. There are colors in this collection that will become new "go to" colors for me, just like OPI Russian Navy is for me. I can see myself reaching for A Roll in the Hague, Wooden Shoe Like To Know?, Kiss Me On My Tulips, and Red Lights Ahead, Where? all the time. Those are my top picks for this collection, and that should impress you because THREE of those are cremes! That is a change for me to prefer the cremes over the shimmers! If you haven't seen my swatches, please check them out here and here.

The OPI Holland collection should be available now at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 ($9.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer.
