Sally Hansen Golden Conduct Magnetic Polish

When I tried Sally Hansen Polar Purple Magnetic Polish, I had a revelation. All this time, I've been thinking I wouldn't like magnetic polish, but I actually do!! Then I tried Sally Hansen Golden Conduct and now I LOOOOVE magnetic polish!!! Golden Conduct is a gorgeous golden bronze shimmery polish and the shade alone is lovely. Then you place the magnet on top and get a REALLY COOL white magnetic effect!!

I feel like the magnetic design on these polishes is usually black or some non-color dark color. I was pleasantly surprised when the design on this polish turned this cool white/silver color. Neat!!!! I guess Polar Purple had some white, but it was surrounded on the edges with dark color. This is just the bronze-y gold base and shining white!

The shimmer in this polish is like a large fleck kind of shimmer too. I am totally in love with Golden Conduct!! This is also a perfect fall shade, so I know I'll be rocking it when it starts to get chilly!

Born Pretty Store Summer Fun With Orange Crystals!

One of my favorite sections on Born Pretty Store is the crystal section. They have such gorgeous colors of crystals to use for nail art. There are always a million colors I want to try, but today I have the orange Swarovski crystals to show you!

I love putting pink and orange together, so this is two coats of OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips with the orange crystals. I put one coat of top coat on over the polish, place the crystals (with tweezers or my fingers) where I want them while the top coat is still tacky, and finish off with another coat of top coat. The crystals stay on for an evening out, or a full day, but this method is not meant for long wear. If you want to wear your crystals for longer periods of time, you will need a glue. Born Pretty Store also sells a glue suitable for crystals.

If you are patient and thrifty, you can reuse these crystals. Just pop these off when you are done and remove any polish from them. I store mine in a ziplock bag for future use.

Born Pretty Store has crystals in every color you could want. The cobalt is a sick color too, I might need that next!! They're also pretty reasonably priced, especially if you have the patience to clean them off and reuse them. Don't forget to get 10% off of your order with the code ERJ61!

Sally Hansen Polar Purple Magnetic Polish!

I recently received three of the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Colors for review, and I was excited to try them out! I admit, I haven't been into the magnetic polish trend, so this was my first experience with magnetic polish. Sally Hansen was a great choice for my first try, as the polish is easy to use and they provide clear directions right on the bottle. I decided to try Sally Hansen Polar Purple first.

I followed the directions exactly, starting by applying one coat of base coat and then one coat of the polish to all 10 nails. Then, I applied a second coat of polish to only one nail and held the magnet over just that nail for 10 seconds. The Sally Hansen polishes have a plastic guide that sticks up over the magnet and you actually rest that guide on your finger, just below your cuticle. That way, the magnet won't actually touch your polish, but it gets really close to the nail. I think that little guide is a brilliant invention, as you don't have to try to hold the magnet close without smudging your polish. You can actually set the guide down on your finger.

The magnet worked really well and I love the swoopy pattern it created. The polish itself is actually really beautiful too, so nice and shimmery.

After using Sally Hansen Polar Purple, I can't really figure out why I didn't like magnetic polish earlier! It's easy to do and looks really cool. I will definitely be wearing these a lot, and I hope the trend lasts for awhile since I'm just getting into it! If you're like me and think you don't like this trend, you should pick up one of the Sally Hansens. It's a budget-friendly way to test out the look, and maybe discover that you actually like it!

OPI Launches the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012

OPI embraces runway trends with the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012. China Glaze Flirty Tankini

I'm going to FINALLY do another Pink Wednesday post today!!! I haven't done one in AGES! Mostly because I haven't been sporting a lot of pink polish, but today I am! I have on the lovely China Glaze Flirty Tankini, a shimmery pink coral.

This is the last of the China Glaze Summer Neons that I have to show you, so you can finally stop hearing about how FAMZING they are. Flirty Tankini is like the others- applies like a dream and needs no white base to shine. This is three coats for full opacity.

I blurred this a little so you could see the pretty shimmer!

Since I reviewed all of these neons separately, I wanted to link to all of them in case you missed any of the posts. Every one of these was great quality, so I highly recommend them if you like neons (like I do).

China Glaze Sun-Kissed
China Glaze Surfin' For Boys
China Glaze Pink Plumeria
China Glaze I'm With the Lifeguard
China Glaze Orange You Hot?

China Glaze I Herd That- You Need It.

I'm really enjoying ALL of the China Glaze On Safari Fall 2012 polishes, but if you're on a budget and can only buy one of them, I have that one for you today!! This stunner is China Glaze I Herd That. I Herd That is a lovely mix of sugar fine copper glitter and what looks like some holographic glitter in there too. These sugar-y glitters are so amazing, I hope China Glaze continues to make more of them.

These fine glitters are very easy to apply and go on evenly. This is three thin coats, but it could be opaque in two slightly thicker coats. I am all for a full coverage glitter, so sign me up for this beauty.

I think fine glitters are the best for sponging too! I Herd That would look delicious sponged on the tips of ANY of the cremes from On Safari, but I picked Prey Tell to try it out with first.

If you've never done any sponging, it's very simple. Do your base color and allow to dry. You will then need a sponge of some sort (I use a white wedge make-up sponge) and a piece of paper. Next, dab a nice pool of polish onto the paper. I like to dip the sponge into the polish and then dab the sponge on the paper to get rid of some of the excess polish before sponging the glitter on to your nails. This way, you can start with a light coat of glitter on your nails and build up the tips to have more glitter.

Come fall, I'll be sporting this look pretty often!

I LOVE I Herd That and definitely recommend that you pick it up. It's a versatile glitter that can be worn alone, layered, and sponged!

I have to order a couple more of the On Safari polishes now!! (Jungle Queen!!)

China Prey Tell is Perfect for Fall!

Now, this polish says fall, yes?? This is the kind of color I like to have on my toes the minute the air turns crisp. China Glaze Prey Tell from the On Safari collection is a deep red wine creme with maybe a hint of brown. Unlike other polishes in this color family, I didn't find that it looked black indoors. I like when a vampy color still looks like an actual color indoors.

Sorry about the reflections in the above picture. I didn't notice them until I actually put the pictures on the computer. You can totally see me in my pajamas in the middle nail there LMAO!

This creme applied nicely, no complaints. I did three coats for the camera, but it seemed pretty opaque in two. It dries very shiny alone, but I did use top coat in these shots.

This On Safari collection is really pleasing to me. It's nothing crazy, but every shade I've tried has been totally solid and something I crave wearing come chilly weather. I have one more to show you in the next post, and it's my favorite of the collection!!

The China Glaze On Safari collection is available now at a salon near you, or online at Ulta.com.

China Glaze Orange You Hot?

I feel like all of my posts about the China Glaze Summer Neons are the same. Rave reviews all around. This post is the same, so you can skip the reading and just look at pretty pics if you want! This lovely neon mango shimmer is China Glaze Orange You Hot? This is definitely a yellow orange, not a true orange. I do personally like to think of it as mango. It sounds summery. And it's OK for me to call it mango, because mango is actually an existing color label here on my blog LOL.

Application on this was great. Two coats, no annoying fight with white polish to use as a base to make the neon pop. I just want to marry the China Glaze Summer Neons. Is that so bad?

The China Glaze Summer Neons are available at an Ulta or other salon near you.
