More Halloween fun today! I have said this on the blog many times, but I adore Halloween. I like putting up fake cobwebs and signs that say "Transylvania --->10 miles" and basically anything Halloween related you can buy in Party City. I also, of course, love Halloween nail polish. OPI got their inspiration for their Halloween mini set this year from Day of the Dead colors and traditions. I have the OPI So So Skullicious set and decals to show you today!
The set includes four mini bottles of polishes in the shades Candlelight, Hi, Pumpkin!, A-Rose From the Dead, and Mourning Glory, as well as 10 nail decals.
Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: two coats OPI Hi, Pumpkin!
Top: one coat Seche Vite
Application: Excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
I started off with OPI Hi, Pumpkin! the pumpkin orange creme and a pink and yellow decal. Hi, Pumpkin! applied really nicely and was opaque in two coats. It's a great orange creme for Halloween nail art. I don't know anything about Dia de los Muertos traditions, so I'm not sure what this design is, but it looked pretty on the orange! The decals are water decals, by the way. You just cut out the one you want to use, place it design side down on your nail and wet the back of it. The designs transfer quickly and easily to your nail.

OPI A-Rose From the Dead is a pretty bright pink creme. This polish is not the most unique, but it applied very nicely, was pretty opaque in two coats (the touch of VNL was less obvious in person), and makes a fantastic background for this green flower decal! I know this is a Halloween set, but this particular mani would look quite at home in the spring or summer as well.

Color: two coats OPI Mourning Glory
Top: one coat Seche Vite
Application: Excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
I think OPI Mourning Glory and this sugar skull decal made my favorite look of the four manis I did today. Mourning Glory is a glossy black creme. It was opaque in two coats, although after the first coat I was afraid it would need three. The second coat evened it out though, so no worries! There are 7 total skull decals, and I am kind of saving the others for my actual Halloween mani, because they are awesome! I will show you my mani, of course, so don't worry. I LOVE this particular skull on top of the black polish and kinda wish I could buy the skulls separately. I would buy lots of them!
Color: three coats OPI Candlelight
Top: one coat Seche Vite
Application: average (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
Oh, leave it to the yellow to be streaky. OPI Candlelight is a very pretty bright yellow, but I did have difficulties evening it out. This is three coats and there is some streaking, as well as VNL. I would definitely still wear this, and a lot of yellows have this trouble, so I won't hold it against Candlelight! It certainly looks pretty with the pink flower decal! I want to try on of the green skulls over this as part of my Halloween mani! I love yellow polishes, so Candlelight will have a nice home in my stash.
Overall, I love the concept of this set. It contains two classic Halloween shades, plus two shades that could work in other seasons as well. The nail decals are adorable and I really love the Dia de los Muertos theme! I could have done without the pink creme, but I guess it fits in with the sugar skull aesthetic.
