Orly R.I.P.

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: one coat OPI Mourning Glory, two coats Orly R.I.P.
Top: one coat Seche Vite
Application: Good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

As a lover of all Halloween polishes, I knew I required Orly R.I.P. the minute I saw the first swatch of it online. R.I.P. is a sheer black base packed with small orange glitter and large orange hex glitter. It is the same kind of idea as the coveted China Glaze Fortune Teller. The small glitter in Fortune Teller is about the same as the small glitter in R.I.P., but R.I.P.'s large glitter is larger than Fortune Teller's small/medium hex glitter. I actually own China Glaze Fortune Teller (I paid a ridiculous sum of money for it on eBay), if you'd like to see a comparison of these two, let me know in the comments!

R.I.P. was not too hard to apply, I did use a black base underneath to make it opaque faster. The large hexes were pretty easy to get on to the nail and I did a bit of dabbing for placement, but nothing strenuous! This is two coats of R.I.P. over my black base, OPI Mourning Glory.

Overall, I love this polish! I might even love it MORE than China Glaze Fortune Teller. The best part is that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for this beauty. It's widely available at the moment! I got mine at Sally Beauty Supply!

  1. I love this! And it's perfect for Halloween but not *so* Halloween that you couldn't easily wear it all season long. Definitely going to keep my eye out for this one! :D

  2. You're right, Elizabeth, you could definitely wear this all fall! The orange glitter is very coppery, and you could probably even layer this over a chocolate brown for a cool fall look!

  3. Love this... I actually have two bottles, accidentally! Could you do that comparison, and maybe tweet it to me so I'm 100% sure to see? :)
