Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: three coats Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish
Top: one coat NYC Grand Central Station
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
There's nothing like a color changing polish to give nail fanatics hours of entertainment. Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish is the most entertaining polish I've worn in ages! Cuttlefish is a gorgeous teal blue with assorted green and blue glitters. Cuttlefish changes from deep teal blue when it's cold, to a minty-tinted white when it's warm! The color change is very dramatic and the polish also looks amazing when it's mid color change.
This is three coats of Cuttlefish, you probably could get away with two through. The formula was good, maybe a tad thick, but quite easily workable. Look at how pretty the green and blue glitter looks when your nails are warm! (Excuse the water drops, I used hot water to make the color change for these pictures.)
What was really cool for me during the couple days I wore this polish was watching how much the color changed depending on what I was doing. I wore this to a dance class and it was really fun to watch it heat up as I started sweating! I also really loved when just my free edge would remain blue for awhile and the rest of the nail would be white (you can see this starting to happen in the picture below).
Now, don't judge, but I'm going to post a terrible picture taken with my iPod just because I really love how the polish looked at the moment I took the picture! I'm keeping it small, because the quality stinks. Look at how fun this looks though!! This is definitely the best color change polish I have tried. I love that it really reacted with the changes in my body temperature, rather than me having to run it under water to change the color. Plus, I love that it also has glitter!!
Pretty and Polished Cuttlefish is still available on Pretty and Polished's website, along with a pink color-changer, Pretty Chameleon (I totally want this one now too!). I need to get some of the Pretty and Polished Mint Chocolate Chip cuticle balm next, yum!!

Very pretty! I think that is the most drastic color change polish I have seen. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the most drastic I have tried Sarah! And it changes all the time too, depending on what you're doing. I was looking at my nails constantly when I had this on haha!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this is impressive! And I love the name! Great swatches!
ReplyDeleteWow. This is REALLY cute! I love the glitter & dramatic color change :). I also love her previous solid-color changers--I have every one! Makes me feel like I'm 12 again with a mood ring :)
ReplyDeleteNow I have to have these! :) The color changers are so cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet polish! I haven't been that into colour-changers yet, but I love the way the glitter looks with this effect!
ReplyDeleteHow I love it how the color changes. Love the color combos and the glitters. You def have the talent. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI have not been interested in color changing polishes until this one! I love the transition from white to blue, and those glitters really make it stand out.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty impressive Rochelle! I couldn't believe how well it worked.
ReplyDeleteAngie D- that's exactly how I felt! I was oohing and aahing like a little kid!! I kept showing my friends "oooh, look at what it looks like now!"
Amy Starke- you do need them! I have to order Pretty Chameleon too!
Elizabeth, honestly I haven't been crazy about the other ones I've tried, but I LOVED this one! The glitter in it is gorgeous too, even aside from the color change!
Thanks Emily!! I love glitter too (could you tell??)
Sarah, I felt the same way. I wasn't even really excited about trying this polish until I put it on! So cool! I especially love how the glitters look against the white!
