Zoya Lovely Collection- Part 2, The Shimmers!

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: three coats Zoya Gie Gie (or possibly Gei Gei?)
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

Connecticut weather has been anything but springy lately. I know the groundhog said we would have an early spring, but he was obviously hallucinating because every time I turn on the Weather Channel, they're talking about some day that it's going to be snowing. Fortunately, I grabbed a bit of sunshine to swatch the three shimmers from the Zoya Lovely spring collection, and I pretended it was warm outside while taking these pictures ;). First up we have Zoya Gei Gei, a shimmering pink that Zoya calls a "blushing cherry blossom pink metallic". My bottle lists the name as Gie Gie, while the Zoya site calls it Gei Gei. I have never heard of anyone with either of those names, I am not sure which is correct! Either way, this is a pretty shimmery pink, perfect for spring!

The formula of this was good, it was definitely full coverage with three coats. The first coat was a tad sheer and streaky, but it built up and smoothed out by the second coat. I did find this to be kind of slow drying, even with quick dry top coat. It was extremely easy to apply though, you can see how close I was able to get to the cuticle with no clean-up necessary.

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: two coats Zoya Piaf
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: excellent (poor, average, good, excellent)

Zoya Piaf has been my most anticipated polish from the Lovely collection since the first promo pictures came out, and I am thrilled to say it did not disappoint. Piaf is a very unique shimmering pale golden yellow. Zoya has such great descriptions of these, they say Piaf is a "fresh forsythia yellow metallic". I have forsythia lining my long driveway, and I connect the first signs of forsythia to spring, so I quite like that description. Piaf is kind of a muted yellow shimmer, so it might be nice for those of you who are afraid to wear yellow with your skin tone. It doesn't scream "YELLOW POLISH" from a little distance.

Piaf has the best formula of the three shimmer. It was opaque in two coats and not streaky at all. More companies should release yellow shimmers, they behave so much better than yellow cremes! Again, it was very easy to get this close to the cuticle and apply exactly where I wanted it. I'm so happy Piaf lives up to my dreams!

Base: one coat Zoya Get Even
Color: four coats Zoya Julie
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: average (out of poor, average, good, excellent)

I really want to love Zoya Julie, a soft pale purple shimmer. I do like soft lavender purples in the spring. I love the color of Julie and the concept of a shimmering soft lavender, rather than a standard creme. However, this is four coats and I can still see streaks and sheer areas. I will probably still wear it, just due to the pretty shimmery color!

Julie has a thin and kind of watery formula that led to some sheer patches for me. I also did still have some streaking with four coats. You could probably avoid the streaking with very careful application (let each coat dry completely before adding another coat, or layer top coat in between the coats of color).

Out of these three polishes, my favorite is Piaf!! I knew it would be my favorite, it's just more of a "me" color than the others, and the great formula sealed the deal. If you missed my first Zoya Lovely post with the three cremes, check it out here. My top picks from the whole collection are Piaf, Blu and Neely. I really love the other three two, but I think they will get less wear from me than Piaf, Blu and Neely.
