Base: one coat Nicole by OPI Base Coat Plus
Color: two coats OPI What Wizardry Is This?
Top: none
Application: excellent (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
OPI joined forces with the new Disney movie Oz The Great and Powerful, in theaters now, for their annual Soft Shades collection. I was excited to see another liquid sand polish in the collection, so I tried that one first. OPI What Wizardry Is This? is a golden taupe liquid sand. This is much prettier in real life. In my pictures it looks mostly brown, but in person you can see the golden sparkle in the matte brown polish. I really loved this one more than I thought. The texture of What Wizardry Is This? is very fine and smooth, not as chunky as the Mariah Carey liquid sands. This actually seemed like the texture of sand!
Application was lovely. What Wizardry Is This? only needed two coats to be opaque and there were no patchy parts or any troubles to speak of. I found this to be the easiest texture polish to work with of the textures I've tried so far. It did take a bit of time to dry down, this seems to be the norm for these textured polishes.
The next two pictures show What Wizardry Is This? with one coat of Gelous. This polish also looks so excellent shiny! The golden sparkle really shows up with a coat of top coat. You can see it especially well in the second picture.

Color: three coats OPI Don't Burst My Bubble
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
I never cared much about the OPI Soft Shades collection until last year's NYC Ballet collection. The sheers were streak-free and absolutely PERFECT for using in glitter sandwiches. I was excited to see some more sheers like those in this year's Soft Shades and OPI Don't Burst My Bubble didn't disappoint! Don't Burst My Bubble is a sheer soft white with a slight pink tint. It should work really well for making ethereal looking glitter sandwiches.
This is three coats of Don't Burst My Bubble. These polishes are meant to be sheer, but they look nice and squishy, so it's OK. Don't Burst My Bubble applied nicely and was streak-free.

Color: two coats OPI Lights of Emerald City over three coats OPI Don't Burst My Bubble
Top: one coat Poshe
Application: good (out of poor, average, good, excellent)
I don't think I own another polish anything like OPI Lights of Emerald City. Lights of Emerald City has large square white glitter pieces and smaller iridescent square glitters in a clear base. This is a perfect glitter to layer over anything at all when you want some soft looking glitter. I commend OPI for creating this polish, it's very cool. For me, it was the sleeper hit of this collection. I'm really into soft looking glitter this spring though, so that may be why I love it!
The pictures above are two dabbed coats of Lights of Emerald City over Don't Burst My Bubble. I found dabbing to be the best way to get the maximum amount of large white squares on my nails. This applied pretty well, it wasn't too hard to get the glitter out and the glitter pieces all lay really flat. The next three pictures are two dabbed coats of Lights of Emerald City over two coats OPI I Saw... U Saw... We Saw... Warsaw from the Euro Centrale collection. Lights of Emerald City looks so cool over this deep blue base!
I love how the darker base here really brings out the iridescent squares. So pretty! I want to try Lights of Emerald City over every kind of base color possible. I am picturing mint green next!
I love that OPI has changed up their Soft Shades collection to include glitters and the liquid sand polish, while still including the sheers that a lot of
