I have really been enjoying Essie collections lately. They are definitely changing it up more often and releasing more than just the occasional exciting color. I knew I wanted a bunch of the Essie Naughty Nautical summer polishes, but they went like hotcakes everywhere! I finally found exactly one bottle each of Sunday Funday, Naughty Nautical and The Girls Are Out, all in the grubbiest Essie display I've ever seen. It was so picked over and some polishes were used, but I think these three made it out untouched. First up is Essie Sunday Funday, a vibrant corally orange with teeny silver shimmer flecks. I LOVE the silver flecks!! They really add something to a color I have about 100 of already. This color looks really juicy on the nails, like fruit. Essie calls it a "tangerine crush coral", so I guess fruit makes sense!

This is three thin coats of Sunday Funday. I had some streaking with just two coats, so I did the third to even it all out. You could probably get away with two thicker coats. The formula was good, not amazing, but good. It didn't apply like butter, but I don't have any serious complaints.

Essie The Girls Are Out: stupid name, GORGEOUS pinky purple with the same awesome silver flecks as Sunday Funday. I definitely needed a polish in this particular shade of pinky purple. It is perfect! I can't think of a polish in my collection that is really similar to this bright purple infused with a heavy hand of fuchsia.

This is three coats of The Girls Are Out. I had the same bit of streaking that I had with Sunday Funday. Overall, not a bad formula, but it doesn't exactly paint itself on.

Let me be honest, when Essie releases a green polish or even a green-blue polish, I still get all excited. Remember when Essie was all reds and pinks? It still seems very edgy when the go blue or green. I knew I needed Essie Naughty Nautical as soon as I heard about this collection. Blue-greens are sometimes hard to photograph, and this came out looking a little more blue than it really is. It has a nice green tone to it and the same cool silver flecks! I wish Essie would use those more often!

This is three coats of Naughty Nautical. I had more streaking with this one than with the other two and absolutely needed all three coats and I still see some imperfections. I have also heard that this polish is a stainer, so double up on base coat when you wear it.

Overall, I love these three polishes! I will be wearing Sunday Funday as my next pedi for sure and I think I might wear Naughty Nautical soon as a mani. I kind of wanted the lime green in the collection, The More The Merrier, but I was super sad that it didn't have the same silver flecks as the other polishes. Boo. Have you seen the duochrome in the Essie fall collection??? NEED!

  5. Ooooh lucky you Amber! Those are two great polishes to nab in a blog sale! Enjoy them :)

    Thanks Marga!I love them too!

That's my favorite part TikiBarbie! I think without the shimmer, they would resemble polishes I already own. The shimmer sets them apart.
