Swatching weather has been rough here in CT! I'm pretty sure it's rained for at least part of every day all week, yikes! But I finally have Part 2 of my Coca-Cola by OPI swatches for you today. First up is OPI You're So Vain-illa, inspired by Vanilla Coke. You're So Vain-illa is a great off white, vanilla creme. It's like the color of vanilla bean ice cream, yum! This isn't a stark, mod-looking white at all, just a lovely creamy color.
This is just two coats of You're So Vain-illa. It's nicely pigmented and not at all streaky, yay! The formula was really great, very easy to apply.
OPI Sorry I'm Fizzy Today is a medium pink creme also inspired by Vanilla Coke. This pink leans a little more towards the peachy side, rather than being a blue-based bubblegum type pink. It's not super bright, nor is it pastel. It's a nice balance and should be flattering on a good variety of skin tones.
Sorry I'm Fizzy Today was lovely to apply. This is two coats and I had no complaints. It's well-pigmented and easy to control.
OPI Orange You Fantastic! is an interesting mix of orange, red, yellow and gold glitter in a sheer orange base. Inspired by Fanta Orange, this is definitely the polish in the collection that reminds me of soda the most! The glitter in the orange-tinted base looks like bubbles in orange soda. This one is also really unique, I can't think of any polish quite like it. It looks a bit rough in these pictures, but it feels fairly smooth with a layer of thicker top coat.
I used the dabbing method to apply OPI Orange You Fantastic! and it worked very well. This is two dabbed coats with a little more glitter added to a few sparse spots. I think this might be a little tricky to apply if you use regular brushstrokes, the glitter seems like it might move around a lot and clump together. With the dabbing method, the polish covered easily and glitter spread around the nail readily.
Inspired by Fanta Grape, OPI A Grape Affair is a lovely deep plum creme. It's a vampy, dark purple, but it never looks black, even in low light. I am always trying to find vampy colors that still look like colors and don't go black, so I'm happy with this one! It is lighter on the nail than it appears in the bottle and is on the blue-toned side of purples.
This is three coats of A Grape Affair. It was actually a tad streak-prone, so the third coat was to even it out. It's a good consistency, but I always feel dark colors should be two-coaters easily. If you do thicker coats, it is probably a two-coater though.
I definitely saved the best for last here!! OPI Green on the Runway is the shade I was most looking forward to trying in this collection. This forest green to almost coppery red duochrome is inspired by Sprite. I am so happy to see OPI doing duochromes again, they do them SO well. Green on the Runway has a really nice color shift, from a jewel-toned green shimmer to a kind of blackened orange-y red shimmer.
As you can see in the pictures, the duochrome effect happens very easily, you can see it almost all the time on the sides of your nails. I included a few extra pictures of this one because I was having fun haha!
Besides being stunning, Green on the Runway has an excellent formula and is very easy to apply. This is two coats and the pigmentation was excellent. I did not notice many visible brushstrokes in person, though I notice you can see some in the pictures. I think in person the duochrome effect kind of hides the brushstrokes. I'm so happy to say that this is an easy to apply and awesome looking duochrome!!
