To start the work week off right, I have six of the Fall 2014 OPI Nordic Collection polishes for you today! I always really look forward to the OPI Fall collection. OPI gets fall right year after year, and this collection is no exception. OPI With a Nice Finnish is a gorgeous golden copper metallic. It's a soft burnished kind of metallic, not a space age kind of look. The color is somewhere right between gold and copper, not too red toned, but not straight up yellow gold. It's a lovely glowy polish that I think will complement many skin tones.
This is just two coats of OPI With a Nice Finnish. It was smooth and easy too apply, no complaints! I can see some brushstrokes in the pictures, but I didn't really notice them in person.
OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries is a rich warm brown creme. It has a reddish undertone to it, but doesn't lean orange. It makes me think of a warm wood color, like a lighter mahogany. This is a great brown creme for fall, I'll definitely wear it quite a bit.
Ice-Bergers & Fries was easy to apply and has a great formula. Two coats is all you need for full coverage.
If you're wondering how Ice-Bergers compares to OPI A Piers to Be Tan from OPI San Francisco, I've included a comparison. A Piers is much more on the orange side than Ice-Bergers. Ice-Bergers looks richer and is more brown by comparison. This is two coats of both polishes.
OPI Going My Way or Norway? is a lovely camel colored creme. This kind of light caramel tan shade really screams fall and winter, like camel colored wool coats. I did start to compare this to OPI San Tan-tonio, but it started raining, so I don't have a picture. They are not dupes, San Tan-tonio is a very neutral tan, almost flat looking. Going My Way or Norway? is richer and warmer. I prefer Going My Way or Norway? on my slightly warm-leaning skin, but cooler skin tones might prefer San Tan-tonio.
This is two coats of Going My Way or Norway?. Not to sound like a broken record, but the formula of all of these were great, just two coats and smooth application. I see some bubbles in these pics, but that is definitely my top coat, not the polish.
OPI Can't Afjord Not To is a gorgeous apricot creme. This color manages to be soft and a bit bright at the same time. It's more muted than the orange cremes of summer, but it's a nice pop of color for fall when everything tends to go neutral or vampy. I am always a fan of orange polish, and I think this peachy orange might be appealing even to those who aren't big fans of straight-up orange. It has a more flattering tone than some true oranges.
Again, two coats, lovely formula!
I was very pleasantly surprised by the sole glitter in the collection. OPI has done a lot of lovely silver glitter toppers in the last year or so and I was expecting OPI My Voice Is a Little Norse to be just that. However, this is a mix of small silver holo squares, round glitter, and teeny little silver sparkles in a sheer gray base. The gray base allows this to be worn all alone in just 3 coats! I am very please to say that this can definitely be a stand alone polish and it is gorgeous when worn that way. The holo glitter really pops. I love this way more than I thought I would!
This is three coats and it's a tad more opaque in person than in the pictures. I was very happy with the coverage at three medium thick coats. If you have longer nails, you may opt for four coats. My Voice Is a Little Norse applied really well. The glitter was plentiful and the base was just the right thickness.
OPI How Great Is Your Dane? is one of those great smokey neutral shades that OPI does for fall. It's kind of a mix of gray, taupe, brown and plum with a hazy, smokey look to it. I probably have some similar shades, but I never seem to mind acquiring more of these types of colors. They act as a neutral but also look a bit edgier than your standard nude color. I can't wait to wear this on my toes in the fall. I think this will be my first official fall pedi!
This ended up being three coats for me. I might have been rushing a bit, as it was about to start pouring rain, but I had a streaky patch or two after the first two coats. The formula seemed like the same nice consistency as the others in this collection though, so this could have been my fault.
