OPI Venice Fall 2015 Swatches, Part 1!

 *Purchased by me*

Today I have the two polishes from the OPI Venice Fall 2015 collection that I just couldn't wait to get my hands on! Funnily enough, they are not typical fall colors at all. I like the fact that more polish companies are including some crossover shades in their seasonal collections. The seasonal collections come out so early these days. I might want to wear a brand new polish, but when it's still 97 degrees outside, I'm not in a fall mood yet. But I can happily sport OPI Gelato On My Mind! Gelato On My Mind is a wonderful icy blue mint. It has a slight minty feel to it, but it's much more blue than green. I'm in love with this shade!

This is three thin coats. It was a little streaky on the first two coats, but it evened out nicely with the third coat. It looks so juicy, doesn't it? I did use a layer of top coat, but it's fairly shiny alone too. It has a nice consistency, not too thin like some polishes this color. Some people say this is a dupe for either Essie Mint Candy Apple or Essie Blossom Dandy. I do not own either of those. Strangely, I hated MCA on me and gave it away to a friend. But I love Gelato on, so I'm not sure how that works out!

OPI Purple Palazzo Pants is a very typical "Me" shade and an atypical shade for fall. I wear soft lilac purples like this all the time. I wear them alone and under all sorts of glitter toppers. I pretty much wear them like other people would wear neutrals, they are my go-to color. Purple Palazzo Pants is a nice pale lilac with touches of pink. It is more lavender purple than it is pink though. I thought it would be similar to my beloved OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, but LLL is much pinker, though they are similar in terms of color saturation, kind of washed out and pastel.

This is three thin coats. You probably could do two coats, it was pretty pigmented, but I like to do my three thin ones. The formula was thinner and runnier than Gelato. Even though I was being cautious, I flooded my cuticles twice. So go slow, and don't load up the brush too much.

I love these two colors a lot and love the Venice theme. I'm not sure if these colors really represent Venice and it's amazing history. However, whenever I do make it over to Venice, I plan on eating gelato about 5 times a day and both of these colors make me think of the sweet treat!

The OPI Venice collection is available now at Ulta, Ulta.com and professional salons.
